This pyramid is the granddaddy of all the pyramids.
The pyramid tomb of the Pharaoh Djoser who is spoken about in Genesis as the king having the famous dream of “7 years of plenty and 7 years of famine.”
The huge grain pits scattered in this area make perfect sense. The pits you see are ancient granaries where the harvest was stored at Joseph’s command. He had interpreted the dreams for the Pharaoh and advised the king to prepare for the coming famine. Genesis comes alive again!
Next to the pyramid is the memorial tomb of Joseph. Yes, Abraham’s great grandson Joseph who eventually became second only to the Pharaoh in power.
